Hansbrough's mother resigns from UNC post

The SportsXchange

Tami Hansbrough, the mother of former North Carolina basketball star Tyler Hansbrough, resigned her position as a school fundraiser on Wednesday amid the school's examination of trips she took with a university vice chancellor, reported.

Hansbrough had been placed on administrative leave earlier in the week after Chancellor Holden Thorp told The (Raleigh) News & Observer that vice chancellor Matt Kupec and Hansbrough appeared to have taken trips to places where Hansbrough's son, Ben, was playing basketball for Notre Dame, which would constitute non-university-related travel.

Kupec, a former Tar Heels quarterback, resigned Sunday night after an internal review indicated he had charged expenses for personal trips with Hansbrough to the university.
