Griner breaks NCAA blocks record

The SportsXchange

Baylor center Brittney Griner became the NCAA's all-time women's leader in blocks during Lady Bears' 82-65 victory over visiting Oklahoma on Saturday.

Griner, who fouled out after scoring 15 points, broke the blocks record with 10:25 left in the game. She finished with eight and has 665 for her career.

St. Mary's-California's Louella Tomlinson had 663 from 2007-11.

The No. 1 ranked Bears won their 50th straight home game.

Griner also holds the NCAA women's record with 11 dunks. She is just three points away from becoming the Big 12 Conference's all-time scorer. She has 2,833 career points. She is two away from tying Oklahoma State's Andrea Riley (2007-10).
