Greg Jennings says quarterback 'means a lot' in free agency

National Football Post

Greg Jennings says the “quarterback means a lot” as the wide receiver prepares to enter free agency on Tuesday.

Unfortunately for Jennings, he’s going to have a difficult time finding a better one to play with than Greg Jennings. After seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers, he’s preparing to move on and Jennings is unlikely to hook up with a passer that is anything like Aaron Rodgers. That’s just a fact.

Coaching means a lot, the dynamic of the team," Jennings told Robert Klemko of USA Today. "To me, the quarterback means a lot, if they have one or not, and I have to make sure my family is comfortable.”

Jennings is coming off an injury-marred season as he dealt with a groin issue and missed significant time. He started in only five games and had 36 receptions for 366 yards. He also has a history of concussions, another factor that could cool some teams pursuing him.

Jennings doesn’t run like Mike Wallace, the consensus top receiver in free agency, and that is also an issue. But in the right scheme he will be able to be a big factor for someone.
