Note: The opinions expressed here are my takes on the Green Bay Packers' key players during the 2012 fantasy football season. As always, use your best judgment and conduct your own research on who to start or bench each week. You know your individual team and/or league situation better than anyone else. All statistics and point totals are based on Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football standard scoring system.
Aaron Rodgers, QB
Rodgers finished the week earning 25.68 fantasy points in a win over the St. Louis Rams. This week he faces a Jacksonville Jaguars' defense that has given up an average of 17.01 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. Rodgers did not appear to be bothered by his calf injury this week and faces an awful Jacksonville defense this week. A big game is likely in store. Expect at least 24.00 fantasy points on the week.
Alex Green, RB
Green finished the week earning 6.40 fantasy points against the Rams. This week he faces a Jaguars' defense that has allowed an average of 27.72 fantasy points per game to running backs this season. Green saw the ball a lot versus the Rams last week both in the air and on the ground. Unfortunately he was unable to capitalize. He has a very easy matchup and looks to have secured the starting job over James Starks. Estimates need to remain low until he shows some consistency therefore expect at least 6.00 fantasy points in this great matchup.
Greg Jennings, WR
Jennings missed his third straight game and it is too early to tell if he will miss action again this week.
Jordy Nelson, WR
Nelson had another strong week earning 18.20 fantasy points against the Rams. This week he faces a Jaguars' defense that has given up an average of 22.42 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. Nelson has had the benefit of increased targets with Jennings out. Provided he misses this week against a weak Jacksonville defense, look for Nelson to have a third consecutive strong game earning at least 13.00 fantasy points on the week.
Finley continued to disappoint fantasy owners earning just 3.10 fantasy points last week against St. Louis. This week he faces a Jaguars' defense that has allowed an average of just 4.94 fantasy points per game to tight ends this season. With Finley's shoulder injury, his poor performance, and the fact Jacksonville does not give up a ton of fantasy points to tight ends, it may be a good time to begin looking for alternatives at the position if you have not already.
