Note: The opinions expressed here are my takes on the Green Bay Packers' key players during the 2012 fantasy football season. As always, use your best judgment and conduct your own research on who to start or bench each week. You know your individual team and/or league situation better than anyone else. All statistics and point totals are based on Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football standard scoring system.
Aaron Rodgers, QB
Rodgers finished the week earning 26.10 fantasy points in a loss to the Indianapolis Colts. This week he faces a Houston Texans' defense that has allowed an average of just 11.52 fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. It is certainly a difficult matchup for Rodgers this week but he should be coming out with guns blazing this week after the disappointing loss to the Colts last week. Look for decent performance of around 22.00 fantasy points this week.
Alex Green, RB
With Cedric Benson out both Green and James Starks will get playing time but Green is listed as the starter. He scored 6.30 fantasy points last week against the Colts and faces a Texans' defense this week that has given up an average of 14.96 fantasy points per game to running backs this season. Green is one to keep an eye on moving forward but shared time remains a concern. Look for around 6.00 fantasy points this week, and obviously more if he finds the end zone.
Greg Jennings, WR
Jennings has been ruled out against the Texans this week due to a groin injury.
Jordy Nelson, WR
Nelson had another "off" week against the Colts scoring just 2.90 fantasy points. This week he faces a Texans' defense on the road that as given up an average of just 15.24 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. This week will not be pretty for Nelson but he does have the benefit of an absent Jennings and a quarterback like Rodgers under center. Look for around 10.00 fantasy points provided he has at least one touchdown reception this week.
There was once a time when Finley was considered an elite fantasy tight end, times have certainly changed. He scored just 1.10 fantasy points against the Colts last week and faces a Texans' defense that has allowed an average of 7.62 fantasy points per game to tight ends this season. To make matters wore for Finley owners; he remains questionable for Sunday's late game and was limited at practice on Friday. It may be best to consider a better option at tight end this week.
