Gordon Hayward scores 29, Jazz defeat Heat

The Utah Jazz shot lights out, finishing 35-66 (53.0%) from the field, including 14-25 (56.0%) from beyond the arc, in a 105-87 win over the Miami Heat. This is only the second win for Utah (7-19) in its last 10 games.

Gordon Hayward had another strong game, scoring 29 points on 9-13 shooting from the field (4-5 from behind the arc) and 7-7 from the free throw line. Other top contributors for Utah included Enes Kanter with 18 points and six rebounds, and Derrick Favors with 11 points and six rebounds. Dwyane Wade had another strong performance for Miami despite the loss, putting up 42 points on 12-19 shooting (2-3 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 16-21 from the free throw line.

The Jazz combined an eFG% of 63.6% with 56.0% 3-point shooting. They are undefeated (2-0) this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Heat, on the other hand, are 1-8 when allowing opponents to hit those marks.

This drops Miami (12-14) to 1-1 against Utah on the year.
