Gordon Hayward put up 17 points and added 10 rebounds and 9 assists in an impressive all-around performance to lead the Utah Jazz to a blowout victory over the Phoenix Suns, 109-86. The Jazz had a strong shooting performance, finishing 42-74 (56.8%) from the field, including 9-18 (50.0%) from beyond the arc. Utah (21-36) has now won back-to-back games after defeating Boston Celtics on Monday.
Hayward shot 7-13 (1-3 from three-point range) and 2-5 from the free throw line. Utah also got solid performances from Derrick Favors with 15 points and 7 rebounds, and Jeremy Evans with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Despite the loss, Gerald Green scored 17 points for Phoenix on 6-15 shooting, including 1-5 from behind the arc. Ish Smith contributed 13 points and 8 rebounds.
Along with their eFG% of 62.8%, the Jazz connected at a rate of 50.0% from 3-point range. On the season, they are undefeated (8-0) when they record marks above 55% and 40% in those respective categories. Conversely, the Suns are 1-3 when allowing their opponents to reach those percentages.
Phoenix (33-24) has now dropped their last three consecutive games.
