Gordon Hayward scored 30 points and added 13 rebounds to help the Utah Jazz take down the Denver Nuggets, 103-93. Utah (6-19) has now won back-to-back games after defeating Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.
Hayward shot 11-18 from the field (1-5 on 3-pointers) and 7-7 from the free throw line, in a solid performance. Utah also got solid performances from Derrick Favors with 19 points and 6 rebounds, Jeremy Evans with 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Trey Burke with 10 points and 10 assists. On 7-16 shooting, including 2-7 from behind the arc, Wilson Chandler scored 17 points for Denver in the loss. He also registered 7 rebounds. Jordan Hamilton chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds, Timofey Mozgov finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds, and Andre Miller put up 11 points and 7 assists.
This drops Denver (13-9) to 1-1 versus Utah on the season.
Coming up, the Jazz square off with the San Antonio Spurs, who are 18-4 on the season. The Nuggets match up against the New Orleans Pelicans, currently sitting at 11-10 this year. The Jazz have a 0-1 record against San Antonio this season.
