Eric Gordon and Anthony Davis both finished with 28 points to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, 132-125. The Pelicans had an impressive game shooting the ball, finishing 46-77 (59.7%) from the field and 33-40 (82.5%) at the free throw line. This is only the second win for New Orleans (24-37) in its last 10 games.
Gordon shot 9-13 (4-5 from three-point range) and 6-6 from the free throw line, in a quality performance offensively. Tyreke Evans also contributed for New Orleans, finishing with 24 points and 11 assists. Pau Gasol had another quality performance for Los Angeles despite the loss, scoring 29 points on 10-15 shooting from the field and 9-14 from the free throw line. He also added 12 rebounds. Jordan Farmar added 20 points and 8 assists.
The Pelicans combined an eFG% of 64.3% with 41.2% 3-point shooting. They are 6-1 this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Lakers, on the other hand, are winless (0-6) when allowing opponents to hit those marks.
This drops Los Angeles (21-40) to 1-2 against New Orleans on the year.
