Goran Dragic put up 26 points and recorded 8 assists to help the Phoenix Suns drub the Los Angeles Clippers, 107-88. The Suns took quality shots from the field in this one, going 41-85 (48.2%). Phoenix (19-11) has now won eight of their last 10 games.
Dragic went 10-15 (1-3 from three-point range) and 5-6 from the free throw line, in a quality offensive outing. Other top performers for Phoenix were P.J. Tucker with 12 points and 7 rebounds, and Markieff Morris with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Despite the loss, Jamal Crawford scored 15 points for Los Angeles on 4-13 shooting (2-5 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 5-7 from the free throw line. Chris Paul contributed 11 points and 7 assists and Darren Collison finished with 11 points and 6 assists.
Poor shooting (eFG% of 40.6%) combined with sloppy ball-handling (TO% of 19.5) proved too much to overcome for the Clippers. On the season, they are 0-1 when posting an eFG% of worse than 45% while also giving the ball away on more than 17% of their possessions. The Suns are undefeated (3-0) when coaxing their opponents into such substandard offensive showings.
Los Angeles (21-12) could not get back-to-back victories after defeating Utah on Saturday.
Coming up next, the Suns take on the Memphis Grizzlies, who are 13-17 on the year. The Clippers meet the Charlotte Bobcats, currently 14-18 this season. The Suns have a 0-1 record against Memphis this season.
