Mario Gomez says he has "no fear" over rumors linking Bayern Munich with a move for Robert Lewandowski.
After reports in the media suggested the Bavarians were interested in recruiting the Poland international, Lothar Matthaus then claimed on Saturday that a deal was almost complete.
But on the back of scoring in his side's 4-0 victory over Schalke, Gomez laughed off suggestions he was concerned over the prospect of increased competition for a starting slot.
"I have no fear of anyone," he told reporters. "The club must commit themselves clearly and tell us what's going on. If it is so, then it is so. But it's not my job to comment on speculation.
"I can only say that all the strikers feel very comfortable here in Munich. We will see what happens."
Saturday's win means Bayern is now 15 points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
