|World Player of the Week |
|Tottenham ||0-1||Newcastle |
Goalkeepers don't usually get a look when it comes to our World Player of the Week, but after Tim Krul inspired Newcastle to victory Sunday, we decided to buck that trend.
The Netherlands keeper made 14 saves, several of them right out of the top drawer, as the Magpies kept Spurs at bay after Loic Remy had put the visitors in front.
Goal's Miles Chambers said: "The Dutchman made 14 saves, many of them spectacular, to earn the Magpies three points at White Hart Lane - the same ground where Krul was on the receiving end of a 5-0 walloping 20 months ago. His performances this season have been consistently top-notch, although his display in north London on Sunday was stratospheric.
"It also provides the shot-stopper will an excellent example of why he deserves to be the Netherlands No. 1 with the World Cup around the corner."
