FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) -- Shane Gibson hit four 3-pointers and scored 27 points as Sacred Heart downed Fairleigh Dickinson 77-70 Thursday night in a Northeast Conference contest.
Gibson was coming off an 18-point performance against Mount St. Mary's that snapped his streak of scoring 20-plus points at eight games. The senior is averaging 25.7 points over his past 10 games and 20.1 points per game for the season. He was 8-of-17 shooting Thursday and added nine rebounds.
Steve Glowiak added 14 points and Louis Montes 13 for the Pioneers (9-13, 7-4).
Sacred Heart averaged 21.5 turnovers in its previous two games, losses to Wagner and Mount St. Mary's, but committed 14 turnovers with 14 assists Thursday.
Fairleigh Dickinson entered averaging a minus-7.6 rebound margin, but won the board battle 37-33 while losing its eighth straight.
