New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks is listed as inactive Sunday prior to the NFC East game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Nicks practiced Thursday and Friday and said he expected to play against the Cowboys as the Giants go for their fifth consecutive win following an 0-6 start to the 2013 season.
Nicks said an abdominal injury has been impacting him this season. He appeared on the injury list Wednesday with a groin injury.
Nicks, in the final year of his first NFL contract, is expected to become a free agent in March.
Nicks has 42 receptions for 620 yards and no touchdowns.
Rueben Randle started in Nicks' spot and is the leading candidate to replace him long-term should the Giants opt not to bring Nicks back next season. The Giants signed Victor Cruz, their leading receiver in '13, to a six-year, $45.88 million deal before the start of the season.
