Giants place Vogelsong, Casilla on DL

Pitchers Ryan Vogelsong and Santiago Casilla were placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with pitcher Sandy Rosario and first baseman Brett Pill replacing them.

Vogelsong suffered two breaks in his right hand and dislocated the knuckle below his right pinkie during a fifth inning at-bat in Monday's 8-0 win over the Washington Nationals. He's expected to have surgery and miss about six weeks.

Chad Gaudin is the most likely replacement for the rotation.

Casilla been dealing with a cyst on his right knee, and was feeling discomfort despite having recently started wearing a brace.
