The Giants and Jets have reached halftime of the Snoopy Bowl.

The New York Giants trail the New York Jets, 10-7, at halftime of Friday's preseason game at MetLife Stadium

You can say there were some signs of progress from the Giants on offense, although there certainly were also plenty of examples of bad football. Eli Manning did complete 12-of-21 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown. The Giants marched 91 yards in 11 plays for a touchdown right before the half, a score that came on a 15-yard pass from Manning to Rueben Randle.

Manning also managed to get several passes to Victor Cruz, who caught four passes for 61 yards. Those were the first receptions of the preseason for Cruz.

Manning, however, spent much of the half running for his life. He was sacked twice, fumbled twice and hit a number of other times. He also threw two passes that could have been interceptions. One was dropped by a Jet defender, the other was overturned on replay as Kyle Wilson was out of bounds.

Schwartz, Weston Richburg, Brandon Mosley and Will Beatty were all beaten badly at times in pass protection. Rashad Jennings carried 13 times for 67 yards in the first half.

The Giants suffered a pair of injuries that could be serious. Starting left guard Geoff Schwartz was carted off with a toe injury and wide receiver Marcus Harris left with a shoulder injury.

The Giants trailed, 3-0, at the end of the first quarter. The only score came on a 31-yard Nick Folk field goal, which capped a nine-play, 72-yard drive.

The Giants got an injury scare when Jason Pierre-Paul went off the field with an apparent right knee injury. Pierre-Paul returned to the game, however, on the next series.

Wide receiver Marcus Harris left the game in the second quarter with a shoulder injury. Starting left guard Geoff Schwartz was also

The Jets stretched the lead to 1-0 when Geno Smith hit Jace Amaro with a 1-yard scoring pass to cap a seven-play, 66-yard touchdown drive. The Giants defense surrendered an 18-yard run, a 23-yard screen pass and committed two defensive holding penalties inside their own 10-yard line to aid the Jets drive.
