Georgia State easily handles George Mason 78-60

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) -- R.J. Hunter scored 25 points and Devonta White added 23 points to lead Georgia State to a 78-60 win over George Mason on Saturday.

Manny Atkins recorded his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Panthers (14-14, 9-6 Colonial Athletic Association), who have won two straight and eight of their last 11 games.

Trailing 24-22, Georgia State went on a 16-0 run that was capped by White's jumper to claim a 38-24 lead with 6:25 left in the first half. The Panthers, who made 10 3-pointers, continued their dominance in the second half, leading by as many as 27 points.

Georgia State, which shot 53.7 percent (29 of 54) from the floor, snapped a five-game losing streak against the Patriots (15-11, 8-6). George Mason shot 42.6 percent (23 of 54).

Sherrod Wright led George Mason with 19 points and Marko Gujanicic added 10 points.
