NORFOLK, Va. -- Freshman guard R.J. Hunter and junior forward Manny Atkins combined for 41 points, helping Georgia State roll to a 69-54 victory over Old Dominion in a Colonial Athletic Association game Saturday at the Constant Convocation Center. Atkins had a game-high 21 points and five rebounds. Hunter added 20 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals for the Panthers (8-11, 3-3 CAA), who have won two in a row after losing seven of their previous eight. Junior guard Devonta White had 15 points and seven assists for Georgia State. Senior center James Vincent grabbed 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Dimitri Batten came off the bench to score a team-high 14 points for Old Dominion (2-16, 0-6), which has lost six in a row since stunning Virginia on Dec. 22. Junior guard Donte Hill had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Neither team shot the ball especially well, as Georgia State connected on 40.4 percent from the field while holding Old Dominion to 35.4 percent. The Panthers made 7 of 20 from 3-point range; the Monarchs made 7 of 19.
