Sherrod Wright had 28 points and teammate Correy Edwards added 10 as George Mason came from a halftime deficit to beat host William & Mary 73-66 on Saturday in a Colonial Athletic Association game. Marcus Thornton scored 19 points and teammate Tim Rusthoven had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Tribe (7-6, 1-1 CAA). Thornton, an all-CAA junior guard, has now scored in double figures in 15 games in a row. Brandon Britt added 18 points for the Tribe. The Tribe fell behind 7-0 and 18-11 before rallying to take the lead at halftime. Edwards had five assists for Mason (8-6, 1-1), which played its second CAA game in less than 48 hours. The Tribe was coming off a loss on Wednesday at Vanderbilt while Mason, playing at home Thursday against Northeastern, lost 84-74 in its first CAA contest. Mason, which trailed 37-33 at halftime, took the lead at 45-43 with 12:30 left and a basket by freshman Patrick Holloway made it 49-45 with 11:25 to go. A basket by Johnny Williams gave Mason a 63-61 lead with 2:48 left and a basket by Wright made it 67-61 with 1:54 to go. Mason's Jonathan Arledge hit two free throws with 34 seconds left to give his team a 71-65 lead and a free throw by Edwards made it 73-66 with 13 seconds to go.
