Garcia insists Roma can catch Juventus

Rudi Garcia has insisted the Serie A title is still within Roma's grasp after watching his side draw 0-0 with Inter on Saturday.

The result means the Giallorossi are now eight points behind the Bianconeri, but that could be 11 by the end of the weekend if the league leader beats AC Milan on Sunday.

"Could Juve wrap up the season with a win tomorrow? No, there are still many more games to go, so nothing is over," the Frenchman said after the game. "We’ll see what happens."

Daniele De Rossi appeared to punch Mauro Icardi in the face during the second half of Saturday's encounter, with the referee failing to spot the incident, but Garcia refused to comment on the incident.

"I haven’t spoken with [De Rossi]. I know Alessio Romagnoli was punched as well," remarked the coach. "Am I worried about TV evidence? In my opinion he’s not at risk."

Reflecting on the game, the 50-year-old said he felt his side was second best for the opening period but recovered thanks to a change in shape.

"Inter played well for the first 30 minutes of the first half while we were a lot better after we changed shape. It was positive to see such a high quality second half.

"When we can’t manage a win then, at the very least, we have to make sure we don’t lose, like today.

"Our fullbacks did very well defensively. I’m pleased with way Romagnoli played. He’s 19 and maturing."
