Fromer NBA player Williams arrested on drug charges

Former NBA player Shawne Williams was arrested on drug charges on Thursday, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reported.

Williams was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture, deliver or sell. He was arrested in 2007 and 2010 on similar charges.

Williams played five seasons in the NBA for five teams. He played 25 games for the Nets last season, including six starts, but has not played in any NBA games this season and is not on an NBA roster.

He has career averages of 5.7 points and 2.8 rebounds.
