LSU linebacker Tahj Jones was among four Tigers who have been declared academically ineligible for the 2012 football season, according to a Times-Picayune report.
Senior tight end Tyler Edwards, sophomore linebacker D.J. Welter and sophomore offensive lineman Evan Washington are also out for the season. Jones was the only starter. Junior Luke Muncie replaced him for the first two games.
The loss of the players is another blow to the team's depth. Tyrann Mathieu has been dismissed, and junior offensive tackle Chris Faulk and freshman wide receiver Travin Dural are done for the season with injuries.
