Former Oakland Raiders assistant coach Randy Hanson faces assault and battery charges stemming from an Aug. 4 incident in which he allegedly smashed a beer bottle on a man's face and then locked himself in a limo, the San Luis Obispo Tribune reported Saturday.
Hanson, 44, had been an assistant for Cal Poly's football team but resigned on Aug. 17.
He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and battery with serious bodily injury, both felonies.
Hanson is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 5 in San Luis Obispo Superior Court.
In 2009 when he was with the Raiders, Hanson was involved in an altercation with then head coach Tom Cable in which Cable reportedly broke Hanson's jaw.
