In an undercover operation, FBI agents arrested former NFL players William Joseph and Michael Bennett and former Syracuse player Louis Gachelin.

The sting, which took place in North Miami, led to charges of cashing fraudulently obtained tax-refund checks, forging signatures on the checks and unlawfully using identification documents.

Bennett was charged with wire fraud for trying to obtain a $200,000 loan at the check-cashing storefront the FBI set up. The Wisconsin running back played 11 seasons in the NFL for the Vikings, Chiefs, Bucs, Chargers and Raiders, finishing his career with 3,703 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.

Joseph, a former first-round pick out of Miami (Fla.), played defensive tackle in the league for seven years with the Giants and Raiders.
