BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- Darris McCord, a member of the Detroit Lions ''Fearsome Foursome'' defensive line in the 1950s and 1960s has died. He was 80.
The team says McCord died Wednesday in his home in Bloomfield Hills, north of Detroit. The team did not disclose a cause of death.
McCord spent his entire 13-year NFL career with the Lions after the club picked the Tennessee star in the third round of the 1955 draft.
He had three interceptions and nine recovered fumbles in 168 games, mostly as a defensive end. He was a member of Detroit's 1957 NFL championship team and played in the 1958 Pro Bowl.
