The Houston Cougars on Friday picked up the services of former Boise State defensive back Lee Hightower, who announced he will transfer.
"Was in Houston this past weekend for my official visit" Hightower announced on his Tumblr account, according to CBSSports.com. "Really dope city and school and I'll be here for the next 3 years."
Hightower was the Broncos starting safety until he was suspended midseason. He recorded 31 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble in seven games for Boise State.
Then in February, he was suspended indefinitely again for a violation of team rules.
Hightower will have two seasons of eligibility remaining when he joins the Cougars.
He is the second defensive starter who was in coach Chris Petersen's doghouse and will not be returning to Boise.
Earlier this month, freshman All-American defensive end Sam Ukwuachu was kicked off the team. On Monday he announced he would transfer to Baylor.
