NEWARK, N.J. - Center Brayden Schenn scored with 3:10 remaining in overtime to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 3-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center on Tuesday night.

Devils right wing Michael Ryder scored with 29.6 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime. It was a shorthanded goal scored with Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur at the bench for an extra attacker.

The Devils carried a 1-0 lead into the third period, but saw it erased during the first 9:49 on goals by forwards Claude Giroux and Scott Hartnell.

The Flyers are 9-2-1 in their past 12 games. The Devils have lost three straight.

Goaltender Ray Emery bounced back after allowing a goal on the first shot he faced to make 31 saves.

Center Adam Henrique scored the Devils' lone goal. Brodeur stopped 25 shots.

Right winger Jaromir Jagr was the catalyst on the game's first goal, which was scored by Henrique just 57 seconds into the contest.

Jagr carried the puck down the right wing, turned Flyers defenseman Nicklas Grosmann inside out and slipped the puck across the crease. Henrique beat his defender to the crease and tapped home his 10th goal of the season and fourth in the past six games.

The Flyers pushed back after a slow first period and were finally rewarded on a power play early in the third period.

With Devils defenseman Mark Fayne in the penalty box for interference, Giroux beat Brodeur with a long wrist shot through a maze of bodies to tie the score.

It was Giroux's 13th goal of the season and ninth in the past 11 games.

Hartnell scored his 10th goal with 10:11 left to put the Flyers ahead 2-1.

NOTES: Flyers C Claude Giroux learned early Tuesday that he would not be part of the Canadian team at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. "It's obviously disappointing," Giroux said. "It was one of my dreams to play for Canada, but there's a lot of good players from Canada." ... Flyers LW Michael Raffl, who will represent Austria at the Winter Olympics, returned to the lineup after missing one game with a concussion. ... With an assist in the first period, Devils RW Jaromir Jagr tied Mario Lemieux for seventh on the NHL career scoring list with 1,723 points. Lemieux reached that mark in 520 fewer games. ... Devils C Patrik Elias (upper body) missed his third straight game. There is no timetable for his return.
