Floyd Mayweather-Miguel Cotto Fight Fails to Impress Detroit Lions RB Jahvid Best

Best Didn't Tweet Much About the Fight, but He Let His Opinion Be Known

Jahvid Best knows a thing or two about being knocked around. The Detroit Lions running back has suffered several concussions during his two-year professional career.

However, he's not the only one recovering from head trauma. According to his Twitter feed, Best watched Saturday's Miguel Cotto-Floyd Mayweather fight, which Mayweather won by unanimous decision, nine round to three. Two judges scored the fight 117-111, while one had it 118-110.

The 154-pound super welterweights traded fierce blows. Mayweather landed several shots to the left side of Cotto's head, mostly to his ear, keeping his professional record perfect at 43-0 after surviving Cotto's late run.

However, Best wasn't impressed, Tweeting: "Boxing is weak now... Heavyweights need to come back #wasteofmoney."

One Twitter user suggested that Best should have watched four free UFC fights on Fox, while another seemingly took a run at Best with this jab: "at least they both stayed conscious during the fight."

Best laughed off the Tweet by replying: "hahah is that a shot at me too? Lol y'all bold on twitter tonight."

The former California Golden Bears star played just six games for the Lions in 2011 and could be cleared for football as early as June.
