GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida forward Christin Mercer has been suspended indefinitely following her arrest on robbery charges.
Mercer, a sophomore from Douglasville, Ga., was released on her own recognizance Monday. She has an arraignment scheduled for Jan. 30.
Mercer was arrested over the weekend in connection with a home invasion and robbery that took place in May. Mercer and a co-defendant are facing a third-degree felony charge for conspiracy to commit robbery. Three other defendants are facing a first-degree felony charge for home invasion robbery with a mask and a firearm.
Mercer has played in 12 games this season, averaging 11.8 points and 5.8 rebounds a game off the bench. She did not play in Florida's 82-68 loss at LSU on Saturday. The Gators (13-4, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) host Georgia on Sunday.
