Florida Atlantic 73, Arkansas-Little Rock 59

Senior Greg Gantt and freshman Stefan Moody combined for 51 points to lead Florida Atlantic to a 73-59 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock in a Sun Belt Conference game on Saturday night.

Gantt led all scorers with 26 points and Moody added a career-high 25 as the Owls (13-17, 8-11) won for only the second time in their last five games.

The Trojans (15-14, 9-9) shot only 33.3 percent from the field in losing their third game in a row.

Moody scored 17 points in the second half to help the Florida Atlantic extend a six-point halftime advantage to double digits less than seven minutes into the second half.

Moody scored seven quick points on a four-point play followed by a three-point play midway through the second half to help the Owls assume a 57-43 lead with 9:50 left.

It was never closer than eight points the rest of the way. Florida Atlantic's biggest lead was 16 at 73-57 with less than two minutes left.

The game was a foul-laden affair with the two teams combining for 43 personal fouls -- 23 against the Owls -- and three technicals.

Leroy Isler led UALR with 14 points.

The win gave Florida Atlantic a split of the season series with UALR. The Trojans won 65-62 in Little Rock.
