Senior Gregg Gantt scored a game-high 26 points and Florida Atlantic withstood Troy's comeback bid to post a 61-54 victory in a Sun Belt Conference basketball game Thursday night. Junior Pablo Bertone added 21 points for the Owls (6-7, 2-1), who snapped a three-game losing streak. FAU saw an 11-point advantage with about three minutes left cut down to 56-51 with 1:34 left, but they made five of six free throws down the stretch to preserve the win. The host Trojans fell to 5-9 overall and remained winless in league play at 0-3. The Owls shot just 40.9 percent from the field but held the Trojans to just 28.3 percent (17 of 60) and won the rebounding battle 46-33. The Trojans managed to keep things close by forcing the Owls into 15 turnovers while committing only six. Junior Antoine Myers led the Trojans with 18 points, nearly twice his average of 9.3 coming into the game.
