The SportsXchange

The Calgary Flames named Craig Conroy and Brad Pascall as the team's assistant general managers on Friday.

Conroy, 42, played more than 1,000 NHL games for the Flames, Los Angeles Kings and St. Louis Blues. He retired in 2011 and quickly transitioned to the Flames' hockey operations department as a special assistant.

Conroy was a two-time finalist for the Selke Trophy as the NHL's top defensive forward.

Pascall, 43, has spent nearly two decades with Hockey Canada, including most recently as vice-president of hockey operations.

Pascall was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 1990 and played four seasons in the minor leagues. His wife, Cassie Campbell-Pascall, was captain of the women's hockey team that won Olympic gold medals in 2002 and 2006 for Canada.

Conroy and Pascall report to general manager Brad Treliving, who was hired in April.
