Five Players Who Have Impressed for the Indianapolis Colts Through Four Games: Fan's Opinion

Yahoo Contributor Network

The Indianapolis Colts are off to a somewhat surprising fast start. They're 2-2 and are one play away from having an even better record this year. The following five players have stood out during the first quarter of the season.

Andrew Luck

Nobody out there could have possibly believed Luck would be this good this soon. Through just four games, Andrew has played very good football at times and has shown that he can lead the team into the future. Ever since being selected first overall, I thought Luck would be good. I just never thought he'd be this good. Indianapolis has another star on their hands at the quarterback position.

Reggie Wayne

Reggie Wayne is having an amazing season through four games. He's on pace for not only a career best season, but also to break longstanding NFL records in the receiving categories. It'd be difficult to keep up his current pace, but fans everywhere have to be pleasantly surprised with how great Wayne has been this year.

Dwayne Allen

After a slow start to the season, Allen is starting to come on strong. He only has 10 catches for 76 yards on the season but has scored touchdowns in two of the last three games. Allen has also looked good as a blocker and looks like a very good option for the team at tight end.

Jerrell Freeman

Freeman has come out of nowhere to be one of the standouts on defense so far. Freeman is playing his first year in the NFL and stepped in immediately as a start for the injured Pat Angerer. Jerrell has earned his playing time and could be a mainstay in the lineup for a long time. Fans have to figure that he's only going to get better as he grows accustomed to the NFL.

Cory Redding

Cory Redding was the number one priority in free agency this offseason and he's wasting no time proving why. Many fans questioned whether the team would have any success transitioning to a 3-4 defense this season. Redding has been a big reason why the defense is starting to work. I expected him to be a good player, but he's been a leader and the key to the defense so far.
