Five Giants to Watch Vs. The Redskins (Oct. 21): Fan's Take

Yahoo Contributor Network

Who will you be watching when the New York Giants host the Washington Redskins on Sunday, October 21 (1:00 p.m. ET on FOX) at MetLife Stadium? Most fans will be eying Washington's dynamic rookie quarterback, Robert Griffin III, but these five Giants could make the difference.

Antrel Rolle (S) -- Griffin hasn't been shy about taking shots down the field. Thus, Rolle will be instrumental in stopping Washington's long game. Last week, he made two crucial interceptions against the San Francisco 49ers. Rolle just has to be mindful of the Redskins' play-action pass.

Jason Pierre-Paul (DE) -- Earlier this week, JPP warned RG3 not to run the ball to his side of the field. Pierre-Paul may be one of the few defensive linemen in the game fast enough to run down the Redskins' quarterback, but his priority should be containment. He'll be key against the run, too.

Hakeem Nicks (WR) -- Nicks, who is recovering from foot and knee injuries, has been practicing more than usual this week. That's not good news for the Redskins, who are ranked last in the NFL in pass defense. Washington is the only NFC East team against which Nicks has never caught a TD.

Domenik Hixon (WR) -- Here's a tip for all you fantasy football players out there: The Redskins' defense has allowed eight receivers to go for 100 yards or more this year. With the focus on Cruz and Nicks, watch out for Hixon, who is averaging five catches and 82 yards in his last three games.

Andre Brown (RB) -- Ahmad Bradshaw has been limited in practice this week, but he vows to be ready for the Redskins. Just in case, Brown may get a few extra carries. Brown, who missed the last two games with a concussion, has done an outstanding job at filling in for Bradshaw this season.
