Yahoo Contributor Network

With all of the interest in MMA these days, a comedy about the sport was bound to come out sooner or later. "Here Comes the Boom" is that MMA comedy. The film stars Kevin James and Salma Hayek, and focuses on a teacher who decides to enter the cage to earn enough money to keep his school's music program going. The movie is perfectly cast, as Kevin James is an MMA enthusiast himself. Here is a look at five other celebrities who are fans or who train in mixed martial arts.

Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore may not be the first name that you think of when it comes to the UFC, but she is one of MMA's biggest fans. She has admitted to flying all over the country to watch her favorite fighters get in the cage.

Ed O'Neill

The "Modern Family" star is an MMA enthusiast with a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The man we have all come to know and love as Al Bundy trains at the Gracie Academy, and can still hold his own at 66 years of age.

Ice T

When rapper Ice T isn't on the set of "Law and Order: SVU," he can be spotted at UFC events. A video blog released by Dana White for UFC 131 shows Ice T and White talking behind the scenes about upcoming fights. The video also showed a host of other celebrities including David Spade.

Jason Statham

Action hero and "Expendables" star, Jason Statham, is very serious when it comes to his mixed martial arts training. He has a black belt in Judo, a brown belt in BJJ, and he practices Wushu stick fighting. Statham has worked often with director Guy Ritchie, who is also a BJJ enthusiast.

Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage is another celebrity that you might not suspect is into martial arts. The actor studies Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Royce Gracie. Gracie fought in the first UFC event in 1993, and helped to make MMA popular.
