FIU's Turner apologizes for naked players

FIU football coach Ron Turner spent part of his Friday addressing some of his players undressing.

Turner issued an apology after reports that some of his players exposed themselves on a public beach in Miami on Friday.

People at the beach called Miami-Dade police to report members of the Golden Panthers were naked, according to CBS Miami.

"Early this morning, our football team had a workout and barbecue on Crandon Park Beach to conclude our summer conditioning program under the supervision of our strength and conditioning staff," Turner said in a statement released by FIU Friday. "Following the workout, some of our athletes went to rinse off at a designated public shower area and a few of them made a poor decision and changed their clothes in public.

"I want to apologize to the community and anyone who was at the beach this morning for this unfortunate incident. ... We are looking into this incident, and if appropriate, will take disciplinary action."

No charges were filed and none were expected to be filed.
