Fire the uniform guy! Vikings' Everson Griffen wears misspelled jersey

NFL fans outside of Minnesota are just starting to know Everson Griffen’s name as a terrific, young defender. But apparently he needs to make his name better known even close to home — such as inside his own locker room.

Check out the spelling on the back of his jersey for the first half of the game against the Houston Texans:

Yes, we realize Griffen, which is correct, is the more unusual of the two spellings. But that’s pretty bad. It would be bad for an undrafted rookie even, but for maybe the Vikings’ best pass rusher it’s on a whole new level. If anyone gets sacked here, it could be the team’s uniform guy.

The good news? Griffen was given a new, correctly spelled jersey to wear in the second half. And we we now have another exception to the I-before-E rule that they taught you in grade school.
