"Fight Factory" is scheduled to begin August 15 at 10 pm ET/PT. The two hour pilot features well-known UFC and Strikeforce fighters. Each week, fans will see the behind-the-scenes action and drama of the fighters who train at Javier Mendez's AKA gym.
Reality TV from Javier Mendez's famous AKA Gym
A new reality show for MMA fans? That's exciting news--except for the fact that it will be shown on yet another TV channel that is not offered by my cable company. Programming on NuVoTV is designed to appeal to an American-Latino audience. But "Fight Factory", featuring Mexican-American UFC fighter, Cain Velasquez, will appeal to MMA fans worldwide.

AKA stands for American Kick-boxing Academy. Javier and his team transform "great wrestlers into great fighters." The two hour pilot features UFC and Strikeforce fighters who train at AKA. Here's a preview: "The Greatest MMA TV show in history" video
This show differs from "The Ultimate Fighter" series by focusing on fighters who are already famous and seasoned. Fans are invited to see what life is really like for professional MMA fighters. The behind the scenes format is certain to appeal to people who already love MMA.
Based on what I've seen in the sneak peak videos, many people who weren't interested in mixed martial arts are going to get interested because of the personal stories being shared.
From the website, "On 'Fight Factory', viewers will witness the fighters' grueling training, personal struggles and victories, immense camaraderie and never-before-seen personal moments, offering insight into what it takes to chase the dream of becoming one of the world's greatest MMA athletes."
