Adrian Peterson's Pro Bowl lead blocker, fullback Jerome Felton, re-signed with the Minnesota Vikings.
Felton signed a three-year deal worth $7.5 million according to NFL.com.
Peterson was dismayed Monday when reports surfaced that his good friend and one of the Vikings' top playmakers, Percy Harvin, had been dealt to Seattle. Peterson said the news hit him like a kick in the stomach.
The deal to retain Felton, an unrestricted free agent, should help Vikings' management rebuild a bridge to Peterson, who challenged the single-season rushing record in 2012.
The Vikings acquired first- and seventh-round picks in 2013 and a third-round pick next year for Harvin.
