Favre's lawyers fight lawsuit claims
Retired quarterback Brett Favre shouldn't have to answer embarrassing assertions that two massage therapists have made in a lawsuit, his lawyers said.
The massage therapists claim that the New York Jets blacklisted them when they objected to suggestive messages allegedly sent by Favre to another woman. Favre was asked to confirm or deny that he solicited women for sex trysts and sent explicit photos to a former Jets game hostess.
The request was part of the process of their 2011 lawsuit.
A motion has been filed by Favre's lawyers that requests that he shouldn't be required to answer, and that some of the requests are irrelevant and inappropriate.
"These requests clearly have absolutely nothing to do with this lawsuit and have been included only to harass and embarrass," attorney Sharon H. Stern and other Favre lawyers wrote.
Massage therapists Shannon O'Toole and Christina Scavo claim they were called to give massage at Jets training camp and to various players individually, until they a run-in with Favre, who retired after the 2010 season.
