Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced on Twitter Wednesday that his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., will train him for his May 4 fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. "Me & my trainer [my dad] back working together getting ready for May 4th," Mayweather tweeted along with a link to a photo of them together. Mayweather Sr. trained his son in the early days of his career before going to jail. Mayweather Jr.'s uncle, Roger Mayweather, then trained the fighter. Floyd Sr. has also trained several notable fighters in recent years, including Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Chad Dawson. Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26 KOs), the welterweight and junior middleweight titleholder, is expected to defend his welterweight belt in a pay-per-view fight, most likely against interim titleholder Robert Guerrero. Mayweather created controversy last week when he said the leading candidate for the fight was welterweight champ Devon Alexander, even though Alexander is under contract for a bout against mandatory challenger Kell Brook.
