Faried and Lawson combine for 62, Nuggets beat Lakers

Kenneth Faried finished with 32 points and notched 13 rebounds, while Ty Lawson added 30 points and 17 assists to lead the Denver Nuggets to a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, 134-126. The Nuggets had a strong shooting performance, finishing 54-99 (54.5%) from the field, including 14-24 (58.3%) from beyond the arc. Denver (27-34) has won just three of its last 10 games.

Faried finished 14-20, in a solid performance. Other key performers for Denver were Timofey Mozgov with 13 points and 6 rebounds, and Randy Foye with 12 points and 6 assists. Pau Gasol had another strong performance for Los Angeles despite the loss, scoring 27 points on 12-21 shooting from the field and 3-6 from the free throw line.

The Nuggets combined an eFG% of 61.6% with 58.3% 3-point shooting. They are 10-2 this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Lakers, on the other hand, are winless (0-8) when allowing opponents to hit those marks.

Los Angeles (21-42) has now lost three straight games.

Coming up next, the Nuggets square off with the New Orleans Pelicans, who are 25-37 on the year. The Lakers meet the Oklahoma City Thunder, currently 46-16 this season. The Nuggets are 1-1 versus New Orleans this season. The Lakers have lost to Oklahoma City the last two times they have played.
