Falcons re-sign Harry Douglas keeping their receiving corp. intact
WR Harry Douglas decided to stay with the Falcons and will solidify the slot position, leaving the Falcons with three high-quality starters. However, last season he ended with a disappointing 39-498-1 on 62 targets — a per-game average of 2.4 catches for 31.1 yards on 3.9 targets. Hardly numbers worth owning for fantasy owners.
His best game was in Week 10 when he went 8-133-0 on 14 targets and became the fantasy flavor of the week. However, outside that game he could not play consistently as starters Roddy White, Julio Jones and TE Tony Gonzalez were and still are the primary receiving targets. His fantasy value will only increase if injuries take out either White or Jones. His value is helping the fantasy value of White and Jones as his overall role helps set them up for big plays.
Falcons re-sign Chris Redman to solidify QB position
Redman has no value unless starter Matt Ryan goes down, but like Jason Campbell he provides valuable insurance in that he won't hurt the fantasy production of the starters too much if Ryan goes down. Redman has proven his value over the years and knows the offense and secures the position for the team.
