Fantasy Football: Week 9 Waiver Wire Wonders

Advice from a Hall of Fame Inductee

This is the time of year that many fantasy football owners are faced with the dilemma of whom to play when their normal starters may be on a bye. The following is to help ease your pain and to help you get by when your normal studs are sitting on their couches come Sunday afternoon.

    Week 9 Notable Byes:

Patriots: QB Tom Brady , RB Stevan Ridley, TE Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, WR Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd

Jets: RB Shonne Greene, TE Dustin Keller

49ers: QB Alex Smith, RB Frank Gore, TE Vernon Davis, WR Michael Crabtree, Team Defense

Rams: RB Stevan Jackson, WR Danny Amendola

Week 9 Bye Week Waiver Wire Wonders (Owned in less than 50% of Yahoo! leagues):

QB: Buffalo Bills Ryan Fitzpatrick: He is coming off a phenomenal game and will have to score to compete with the Texans.

RB: Arizona Cardinals LaRod Stephens-Howling: He is a safe bet to get you decent numbers by returning kicks, catching passes and getting some carries vs. the Packers defense.

WR: Jacksonville Jaguars Cecil Shorts: Fellow WR Mike Thomas was traded to Detroit to pave the way for this guy.

TE: Jacksonville Jaguars Marcedes Lewis: The trade of Mike Thomas could provide more targets his way.

D: New Orleans Saints: They are at home vs. the Eagles whom are questioning if they want to move forward with a rookie quarterback or the turnover machine that is Michael Vick.

Greg Padgett was one of five inaugural inductees into the Toyota Hall of Fame: Legends of Fantasy Football in 2011 ( http://toyotahalloffame.com/).
