Yahoo Contributor Network

While trades are a great way to acquire the best batters for your fantasy baseball team, the waiver wire and free agent pool are also a great source for finding key contributors and batters that will help your team win on a weekly basis. From batters currently on a hot streak to players expected to breakout or produce in a better situation, here are the most-added batters from Week 24 of the 2012 fantasy baseball season.

Monday, September 17: 2B/3B Chris Nelson, Colorado Rockies, 7,891 adds*

Few hitters were hotter than Nelson following his three-hit performance against the San Diego Padres on September 16. During his eight-game hitting streak, he was 17-for-32 with eight runs scored and eight RBIs. Nelson's consistency has made him a particularly-strong addition as a fantasy second baseman.

Other top adds of the day: Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo (5,468 adds), San Diego Padres 2B/3B Logan Forsythe (4,742 adds), Milwaukee Brewers OF Norichika Aoki (4,060 adds)

Tuesday, September 18: 2B/3B Logan Forsythe, San Diego Padres, 3,528 adds

In the high-scoring 12-11 win over the Rockies on September 16, Forsythe went 4-for-6 with three runs scored. A dominant hitter in September, he is very similar to what Nelson provides in terms of being a great hit and run provider.

Other top adds of the day: Norichika Aoki (3,048 adds), Anthony Rizzo (2,997 adds), Baltimore Orioles OF Nate McLouth (2,920 adds)

Wednesday, September 19: OF Norichika Aoki, Milwaukee Brewers, 5,382 adds

With two more hits against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday, Aoki extended his hit streak to eight games. Contributing as a hot hitter, solid run producer, and stolen base maven, he has effectively become one of the best late-season outfield pickups this season.

Other top adds of the day: Chris Nelson (4,591 adds), Nate McLouth (3,067 adds), Los Angeles Angels SS Erick Aybar (2,320 adds)

Thursday, September 20: OF Norichika Aoki, Milwaukee Brewers, 6,413 adds

Aoki continued his excellent streak with his third home run of the month off of Kyle McPherson. Not known for his power, his hard hitting has helped him hit plenty of doubles this season.

Other top adds of the day: Nate McLouth (4,560 adds), Chris Nelson (4,414 adds), New York Yankees OF Ichiro Suzuki (3,457 adds)

Friday, September 21: OF Norichika Aoki, Milwaukee Brewers, 5,379 adds
