Fantasy Baseball 2012 – Week 23 Most-Added Batters: Fan’s Review

Yahoo Contributor Network

While trades are a great way to acquire the best batters for your fantasy baseball team, the waiver wire and free agent pool are also a great source for finding key contributors and batters that will help your team win on a weekly basis. From batters currently on a hot streak to players expected to breakout or produce in a better situation, here are the most-added batters from Week 23 of the 2012 fantasy baseball season.

Monday, September 10: OF Norichika Aoki, Milwaukee Brewers, 5,221 adds*

Phenomenal since earning the starting right fielder spot, Aoki has especially put up great fantasy numbers all month. A force with the bat, on the bases, and for scoring runs, his numbers are great for someone who hits leadoff. Add Aoki now for the playoff push.

Other top adds of the day: Baltimore Orioles 1B/3B Mark Reynolds (4,881 adds), Oakland Athletics C/OF Josh Donaldson (4,194 adds), Miami Marlins 2B/3B/SS/OF Donovan Solano (4,048 adds)

Tuesday, September 11: OF Norichika Aoki, Milwaukee Brewers, 6,213 adds

Other top adds of the day: San Diego Padres OF Chris Denorfia (4,592 adds), Josh Donaldson (3,889 adds), Mark Reynolds (3,059 adds)

Wednesday, September 12: OF Lorenzo Cain, Kansas City Chiefs, 6,508 adds

A .308 hitter in September, Cain was an electric outfielder in Kansas City. Unfortunately for owners who picked him up, they likely dropped him soon after due to his continuing injuries. With a grade-2 strain in his right hamstring, he will likely not play for the rest of the season.

Other top adds of the day: Josh Donaldson (5,547 adds), Baltimore Orioles SS J.J. Hardy (4,993 adds), Oakland Athletics 1B/OF Brandon Moss (4,410 adds)

Thursday, September 13: 2B/3B Logan Forsythe, San Diego Padres, 3,841 adds

On Wednesday, Forsythe hit his fourth homer of the season and was batting .396 with 11 runs and 11 RBIs in his last 14 games. On an absolute tear with the Padres, his great numbers have raised his ownership numbers from nonexistent to a number that should be higher.

Other top adds of the day: Lorenzo Cain (2,847 adds), Norichika Aoki (2,426 adds), J.J. Hardy (2,347 adds)

Friday, September 14: 2B/3B Logan Forsythe, San Diego Padres, 4,274 adds

Other top adds of the day: Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez (2,849 adds), Norichika Aoki (2,014 adds), San Francisco Giants 2B/3B/SS Marco Scutaro (1,707 adds)

Saturday, September 15: 2B/3B Chris Nelson, Colorado Rockies, 8,045 adds

With injuries and no chance at the playoffs, Nelson has gotten a chance to get regular playing time in August and September. He has responded extremely well with the regular at-bats and continues to be one of the hottest hitters of the month on a team with little to play for this month.

Other top adds of the day: Philadelphia Phillies 1B/OF John Mayberry (3,108 adds), Norichika Aoki (2,109 adds), Salvador Perez (1,976 adds)

Sunday, September 16: 2B/3B Chris Nelson, Colorado Rockies, 11,706 adds

Other top adds of the day: John Mayberry (4,328 adds), Marco Scutaro (3,307 adds), New York Mets 1B/2B/3B Daniel Murphy (2,917 adds)
