    Fantasy Baseball 2012: Week 14 Most-Added Batters: Fan’s Review

While trades are a great way to acquire the best batters for your fantasy baseball team, the waiver wire and free agent pool are also a great source for finding key contributors and batters that will help your team win on a weekly basis. From batters currently on a hot streak to players expected to breakout or produce in a better situation, here are the most-added batters from Week 14 of the 2012 fantasy baseball season.

Monday, July 2: 2B/3B/SS/OF Trevor Plouffe, Minnesota Twins, 3,906 adds*

After cooling off a little at the end of June, Plouffe started off July on the right foot with two home runs against the Kansas City Royals. A dominant and versatile power hitter, Plouffe is nearly invaluable when he is producing for the Twins.

Other top adds of the day: St. Louis Cardinals 1B/OF Lance Berkman (3,904 adds), New York Mets 1B Ike Davis (3,384 adds), Pittsburgh Pirates 3B Pedro Alvarez (3,163 adds)

Tuesday, July 3: 2B Alexi Amarista, San Diego Padres, 5,400 adds

Amarista has quickly racked up the hits and runs scored for an improving Padres team. In his last six games following the July 3 contest against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Amarista went 11-for-21 with four home runs, seven runs scored, and 12 RBIs.

Other top adds of the day: Lance Berkman (5,120 adds), Pittsburgh Pirates 1B/OF Garrett Jones (4,647 adds), Kansas City Royals C Salvador Perez (3,854 adds)

Wednesday, July 4: 1B/OF Garrett Jones, Pittsburgh Pirates, 7,090 adds

July 4 marked Jones' first start against a left-hander (Dallas Keuchel) this season. Despite going 2-for-3 in that game, Jones is still a part-time player at best who will only start against right-handers.

Other top adds of the day: Colorado Rockies 1B/OF Tyler Colvin (5,138 adds), Salvador Perez (4,330 adds), Miami Marlins OF Justin Ruggiano (4,310 adds)

Thursday, July 5: 1B/OF Garrett Jones, Pittsburgh Pirates, 7,330 adds

At the end of his four-game series against the Astros, Jones went 9-for-16 with two home runs, seven RBIs, and eight runs scored.

Other top adds of the day: Justin Ruggiano (5,892 adds), Salvador Perez (5,274 adds), San Diego Padres C Yasmani Grandal (4,886 adds)

Friday, July 6: 1B/OF Tyler Colvin, Colorado Rockies, 14,470 adds

Already on a tear for the Rockies, Colvin became the first player to hit two home runs off Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg. A first-round pick in 2006, Colvin is a very good young prospect who is readily available in most leagues.

Other top adds of the day: Salvador Perez (7,212 adds), Garrett Jones (6,503 adds), Chicago White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez (3,557 adds)

Saturday, July 7: 1B/OF Tyler Colvin, Colorado Rockies, 22,770 adds

Other top adds of the day: Milwaukee Brewers OF Norichika Aoki (7,014 adds), Justin Ruggiano (3,981 adds), Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo (3,978 adds)

Sunday, July 8: 1B/OF Tyler Colvin, Colorado Rockies, 13,676 adds

Other top adds of the day: Justin Ruggiano (6,680 adds), Pittsburgh Pirates 2B Neil Walker (3,042 adds), Salvador Perez (2,089 adds)
