Fans take over for Capitals anthem singer after mic fail (Video)

Caleb Green has sung the national anthem countless times before Washington Capitals fans at Verizon Center. Usually, their lone contribution is shouting “RED!” at the appropriate lyrical time.

But they had to do a bit more on Wednesday night, as a mic malfunction at the start of the song cut off Green’s vocals. So the packed house waiting for the Capitals’ game vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins picked up the tune and helped him out.

While this isn’t the first time the crowd has taken over after technical difficulties on the anthem, it never ceases to be inspiring.
