Atlanta Falcons defensive end John Abraham was charged with obstruction of police on Monday night in Atlanta, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Police officials told the Journal-Constitution they were responding to a call about a woman threatening to jump from a building when Abraham refused to leave the scene.
According to the police report, police put up crime tape to keep onlookers out of the area. Abraham entered the restricted area, and a firefighter "repeatedly ordered him to leave the scene."
The report said Abraham "refused and insisted on continuing [farther] into the scene." That's when he was arrested.
Abraham was charged with a misdemeanor.
The Falcons released a statement, which read, "We are aware of the news regarding John Abraham. We are in the process of gathering more information and we will have no further comment at this time."
