Fabio Maldonado vs. Jorgen Kruth Added to UFC: Nottingham

UFC Fight Night 29 Results: Fabio Maldonado Edges Out Joey Beltran in Split Decision Victory

A light heavyweight bout has been added to UFC: Nottingham with Brazilian slugger Fabio Maldonado facing Swede Jorgen Kruth.

UFC officials announced the new match-up on Tuesday.

Fabio Maldonado (18-5) returns to action and will be swinging for a finish after two fairly controversial losses in his last two fights. Maldonado had solid performances against both Kyle Kingsbury and Igor Pokrajac, but the judges ultimately gave both fights to his opponents.

Now Maldonado looks to stop the two-fight skid when he fights in England this September.

Facing Maldonado will be undefeated Swedish born prospect Jorgen Kruth (5-0).

Kruth was one of the Swedish born fighters originally scheduled to fight on the UFC on Fuel TV 2 card that landed in the country in April, but he suffered an injury that forced him off the card.

The former Muay Thai and kickboxing champion will now face Maldonado in a bout between two heavy hitters.

Stefan Struve vs. Stipe Miocic headlines the UFC: Nottingham fight card on Sept. 29 at Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England.
